chocolate chip pancakes!

Judy, Rachel, Krithika and I “surprised” Ekavali with breakfast before her big test, which included the remains of the banana chocolate chip bread I made the night before (post on that later),  and turkey bacon. Rachel is a vegetarian — for the last 2 months I might add, a great feat indeed — and Judy stepped up to the challenge with her veg-friendly  omelets with tomato, mushroom, spinach, and provolone (SO DELICIOUS. Thank you Judy!).

We even made baby pancakes!

cranberry oatmeal breakfast scones

I decided to get my wisdom teeth out four days ago aka December 24th aka Christmas Eve aka the day before Christmas. On top of that, I only got 2 out of the 4 out, which means I have to go under the knife again sometime in the near future. Talk about prolonging the pain.

To make things worse, I was off crunchy, hard food, which meant strictly eating yogurt, and soup, and therefore no baking. Ooph.

This was a rule meant for breaking.

So the next morning aka Christmas morning rolled around, and I decided to try out a recipe for breakfast scones from The Art and Soul of Baking

blueberry banana bread

banana blueberryI rarely eat bananas, but I still buy them out of habit. There was a time when I was a banana fanatic and would always buy a good big bunch every week and hang them from a ceiling hook to keep them from bruising (it works! try it!).

Anyways, now I always end up with several black bananas that I never know what to do with…UNTIL TODAY. Think moist, chewy, and perfectly sweet. Think blueberry banana bread.
