Keep those citrus peels!

I don’t know about you, but it seems like people always throw out their citrus peels into the trash! I’ve been using a lot of limes recently, and instead of throwing out the peels, I’ve been throwing them into my in-sink disposer.

The second I turned the disposer on, the smell of limes wafted up! It totally brightened my day and made washing all my dishes go a little faster. This would work with lemons and oranges too!

Moral of the story: save those citrus peels!

Farmer’s Market

• Got lost trying to get to Mayo yesterday from my apartment. I realize I’m connected to Mayo by tunnels, but somehow I managed to start walking outside and that’s when it all started going down hill. Thankfully, several people saw my map and stopped to point me in the right direction.

• Bought a whole chicken from the Asian market and found an egg and several developing ones inside! Pretty cool!
• Still not used to how sprawling Rochester is; Boston was so tightly packed and accessible…it’s going to be interesting without a car…

We went to the farmer’s market down the street from my apartment – they had SO MUCH fresh/organic vegetables and grass-fed meat. For once, my mom was happy about MN ha!

There were buckets with flags on either side of the road that you carried as you crossed! Adorable!

I need to bring one of these next time! If only someone would also pull me around…
